Founded by Mr. Keshavan Nair and Mr. Syed Muhhamed Ravutar, the St. George bus company ruled the streets of Changanacherry, setting example of true service and religious harmony! Changanacherry is famous for its religious harmony and the market ofcourse.
Unlike today's latest tech and luxury, they doesn't have any such. Owners of these services had to ensure smooth operation by contacting authorities for proper maintenance of roads and its expansion, bridges. In short, the owner has to run behind each and everything for smooth operation. St. George bus also played a vital role in connecting Changanacherry to the highranges. Changanacherry market is well famous then and now and St.George could connect the highrange people to the market.
As the town grew, more educational institutions came, more stores came and thus the traffic. St.George and the owners had thier good times and served the people with joy. Reflecting religious harmony which our land upholds, St.George ruled the streets of Changanacherry ! Elappara, Venkotta, kulathurmuzhi, mannar were some of its famous routes. But they couldn't last longer to create more history. Employees along with thier union and its leaders stopped its services for reasons unclear but from some sources it was under the banner of more wages and more bonus, but the real fact unknown. No information on what happened to thier demands, but after some months, they made St.George bus company, a history ! This could be a new info for some of the changanacherians while some may have heard about this service from thier parents or grandparents. St.George will always be remembered and will be honored.
