British Airways first 747 in new BOAC livery, ready for takeoff from Dublin Airport after a paint job.

The flight BA100 left Dublin at 9:17AM local time, heading to London Heathrow.


“BOAC has started taking delivery of its 747s – the fist is seen on arrival at Heathrow recently – but, because of the dispute between the corporation and its pilots over pay and conditions for crewing the type, they will lie idle through the summer. If no longer. Plans to lease one out in the meantime have been abandoned” published on 4 June 1970 in an “Air Transit’ paper.
